Jeremy Corbyn, former Labour Party leader, current Leader of Your Party and Independent MP for Islington North, has backed our campaign for justice!
In an interview with one of our campaigners in Birmingham on Wednesday, he expressed solidarity with the people of the Kashmir region in their fight for freedom, democracy and a decent existence. We have since received confirmation of Corbyn’s backing from his office.
“We’ve got to stand up against poverty, injustice and oppression everywhere,” Corbyn states.
“Just as we stand up against injustices here [in Britain].”
“We have to use our public positions to do that, as members of parliament, as councillors, as union executives…
“If someone a thousand miles away speaks up for you, it makes a difference.”
We entirely agree! And we echo the sentiment to other prominent figures.
