The oath-taking ceremony of the All Balochistan Clerks and Technical Employees Association, Fisheries Department Unit, was held with great enthusiasm and energy. The ceremony was attended not only by a large number of employees and workers from the Fisheries Department, but also by leaders of the Balochistan Grand Alliance, including Professor Qudoos Kakar, Ali Asghar Bangulzai, and Shamsullah Kakar, along with other labour leaders.
Speakers addressing the ceremony spoke openly about the serious problems facing the working class and the shackles of the exploitative system. They stated that the ruling class places the burden of every crisis and financial hardship upon workers and peasants, while themselves remaining engrossed in palaces worth billions and lives of luxury. They emphasised that the country’s economy stands on the blood and sweat of the working class, yet this is the class that is most neglected and devastated.
Trade union activist from Baluchistan Karim Parhar addressed the gathering. He said that the ruling class always gives the excuse to the people that “the treasury is empty,” while these same rulers’ immense wealth, properties, and luxurious lifestyles are visible to all. He stated: “This country is run by the blood and sweat of workers and peasants, yet this class is always the first victim of every disaster and calamity.” He emphasised that today the working class is divided, while the ruling elite always remains united in defence of their class interests.
Karim mentioned recent popular uprisings and protests, stating that the greatest weakness of these movements was the absence of a party representing aspirations of the working class, which prevented them from reaching their conclusion. He said it is the responsibility of organised workers to build such a force in Balochistan, Pakistan, and throughout the world that can bring popular uprisings to their logical conclusion, i.e. putting power into the hands of workers. “Our salvation lies only in workers’ ideology, unity, and organised revolutionary struggle. This is the only path that can defeat this exploitative system.”
The ceremony concluded with renewed solidarity, determination, and enthusiasm for struggle among the workers. Participants pledged that they would advance the struggle not only for their own rights but for the complete elimination of the entire exploitative system.
